This module identifies why evaluation is important, both for ensuring that your activity is delivering a high-quality experience and to assess the impact of these activities. There are some key steps you will need to take along your evaluation journey, so as you are watching and reading the content from this course think about how it applies to your program/activity and the outcomes that you are aiming to achieve.

Good evaluation requires upstream planning and clear objectives. Moreover, you should be committed to making improvements in your program or activities based on what your evaluation reveals. As you review the course material, keep in mind the following probing questions so you can better design your program or activity, enhancing its impact and addressing the overall goal of your evaluation project:

  • What is the purpose of the activity you are evaluating?
  • What do you want to achieve with it?
  • How will you know if you have been successful?
  • Are your goals clear, specific and realistic?

This course will help you develop the skills and know-how to implement your evaluation plans and address these questions.
