About the Course Handbook

About the Course Handbook

This self-paced course will equip you with the skills, knowledge and experience to engage effectively with policy makers at a range of levels and evidence policy impact across social and environmental topics. The course is designed to help you discover an approach to policy engagement that is appropriate to your research, career stage, values and aspirations for impact.

If you also signed up for our online or in-person sessions, you will need to engage with these course materials before and between live sessions with our trainers. This means we can use the live sessions for co-learning activities and discipline-specific skills development facilitated by expert trainers to ensure high levels of engagement and learning. In both online and in-person events, we will facilitate opportunities to network across disciplines and to hear from and meet with a range of guest speakers that represent different areas of the policy ecosystem.

This training programme is delivered by the Institute for Methods Innovation, Fast Track Impact and Walcott Communications Limited on behalf of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) and Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).Â
